Kansas City NWSL New Stadium
On Tuesday, Oct. 26, the owners of Kansas City NWSL, a professional women’s soccer team based in Kansas City, MO, announced the construction of a new stadium. This is notable because Kansas City NWSL’s stadium will be the first one specifically built for a women’s soccer team in the United States. The stadium will cost $70 million and is projected to be ready for use by the team in 2024. This news, which occurs as the team plays its final game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 30, is certainly a positive step in achieving the goal of gender equality in sports.

World Series Kicks Off
The World Series is underway this week, with the National League Champion Atlanta Braves facing the American League Champion Houston Astros. This marks Atlanta’s first World Series appearance since 1999, while Houston returns for the first time since they won the title in 2017. The Braves, who did not have a winning record until early August, are underdogs in this series, as Houston has played in each ALCS over the last five years and is annually considered to be a contender. Many baseball fans will be rooting for the Braves as the Astros are still haunted by recent cheating scandals. Play ball!
