Live music lives on after Party on the Green

In the wake of Party on the Green, you might wonder, “Where do we turn to for live music?” You may be surprised or delighted to know that the College will have regular live music events all year. This upcoming weekend is no exception.

This Saturday, Chicago band Ransome will perform at 6 p.m. in the Lowry Pit. Don’t try Googling (or asking Jeeves about) them, because you won’t get any results.  The young project of 7-9 interchanging members manifests as an afrobeat band that embraces funk, big band, and psychedelia. This is an auditory combination that we at the Voice look forward to experiencing, for the first time, live.

The event, sponsored by WAC, will be a fun, free way to spend some time dancing this Saturday evening. Small Concerts, a subdivision of WAC, hosts organic, fair-trade, small band music shows throughout the school year. This year’s series has finally kicked off -— so expect semi-regular small concerts from here on out.
