In a basketball game, communication is key. It is a trait that is hard to quantify but can be the difference between a win and a loss.

In Saturday’s blowout win versus Wabash College, the Fighting Scots were certainly all on the same page during their 90-66 victory.

With twice the number of assists as Wabash, the team dynamic is certainly clicking as the Scots are now 10-2 in conference play and are tied for first place in the conference.

Wooster made two free throws to start the Scots’ scoring run, and they never looked back.

“We were very concerned heading into this game about a possible letdown because we were coming off a very emotional game against Ohio Wesleyan [University],” said Coach Steve Moore, “but our players did a really good job of fighting that off and really coming ready to play.”

Numerous players from the Scots made major contributions to the win.

Dan Fanelly ’17 wreaked havoc on Wabash’s offense with five steals. He also scored 18 points on 70 percent shooting and had 3 rebounds. Overall, Wabash committed 21 turnovers during the course of the game.

Spencer Williams ’18 scored 17 points and showed the strong leadership he has had all season.

Josh Kipfer ’16 contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds during the win.

Alex Lalonde ’16 led the team in rebounding, pulling down 6 to go along with 5 points.

Finally, Reece Dupler ’19 poured in 12 points in 20 minutes on 6-8 shooting.

The Scots played Kenyon College at home Wednesday after press time. Tomorrow, the Scots head to Granville, Ohio to take on Denison University at 3 p.m.
