On the lighter side…Scratch, sniff and wear?

Who knew Canadians could be fabulous inventors? The latest and greatest to come out of Canada is raspberry scented jeans. Clearly keeping in mind the childhood favorite “scratch and sniff stickers,” Montreal-based Naked & Famous Denim has begun to produce men’s jeans that emit an aroma of raspberries upon being scratched. The jeans are said to hold their scent up to five washes, but based on how infrequently men tend to wash their jeans, this limited hold time hardly worries the creators. These jeans can be yours at the mere price of $150 per pair.

It’s unknown whether or not these aromatic jeans will be a hit, but if they are, women can probably expect scented jeans geared toward them to hit the shelves next season. Naked & Famous Denim says that for women they may be producing something “more girly” than raspberry. Justifying the scented denim, designer Brandon Svarc told TODAY.com “we just like making fun and special products that make our customers smile. We are the crazy Canadian denim nerds and love coming up with innovative and strange denim fabrics.” The jeans are available online and in stores.
