Chrysler hopes for return to Detroit plant
Chrysler is in talks to reclaim a Detroit-area assembly plant abandoned when the company filed for bankruptcy. The automaker expects the move could save approximately 1,200 jobs slated for elimination by the end of 2010.
The plant produces the Chrysler Sebring and the Dodge Avenger, and early talks suggest the plant will remain open until Chrysler releases its new mid-size sedan in 2013.† No concrete plans are in place that suggest how long the Detroit-area plant will remain in Chryslerís service.
